I am a property addict, long ago and far away I worked for 12 years at the harsh end of social care, I've worked in travel and tourism, journalism, been an artist, and I'm experienced in business start-up and growth. I actually like writing business plans!

My husband always said if anything happened to him I would fill the house full of animals - he was, as always, right! I have a house full of animals.

I'm a terrible geek, I know way too much about Doctor Who, I may be in love with Keifer Sutherland, I read constantly, I have a tap fetish and I can use the internet like an extra brain.

Everything else changes according to time and place.

When it came time to change this website I left this page until last, because it is the hardest page to change.

Im 2004 my late husband and I gave up our respective careers and wandered off around the world building unusual stuff, from a villa on a Caribbean island to a boutique hotel in Turkey to finally the last project, a complete rebuild of a stone village house, The Artists House in Kirazli Koy.

Just after we had finished the house my husband died, very suddenly, and I lost my best friend, the better half of me and my inspiration.

And now two and a half years later I am still here in Kirazli, still breathing, still watching the sun on the pine trees and the seasons come and go.

These days I run a small boutique medical tourism company and I write, lots, from creative writing to business advice to property advice to travel articles. Have broadband, will sell words!

Kirazli has become home, the turn of the seasons has become familiar, the lifestyle works for me.

We have tentative plans to build something in glass and wood when this house sells, I fancy doing modern having done traditional and I fancy going off-grid if I can find the right plot.

I have a cat called Evils, a couple of dogs, Shadow and Vinnie, the support of a kind and caring partner and my brilliant friends and neighbours here.

I am not alone and I am looked after

I still think I am lucky, for all we did and all we found and for being granted a life less ordinary.

This is Phil (on the left!!), he built this site, he taught me pretty much all the important stuff I ever need to know, he left this life too soon but he had so much fun during his time here.

This site is his no matter how much I hack it around now and in the future! And somewhere he is laughing himself sick over my clumsy editing attempts!

I miss him but I can still see him, laughing in the pool, laughing in the light, laughing always.
