2017 Christmas & New Year Breaks in Pembrokeshire

Christmas breaks for the 2017 festive season
Our Christmas and New Year breaks in Pembrokeshire are designed to let you relax, unwind and enjoy a peaceful Christmas in Wales.

We like to celebrate Christmas as a house party, simple, warm festivities without overdosing on gaudy decorations, too much booze and false cheer.

Food to share is the main theme of our Christmas and New Year breaks, that and the landscape around us of frosty fields, rushing rivers and wide seascapes.

From a traditional honey roast ham on Christmas Eve, served with home-made pickles, slabs of pate and crisp winter salads tossed in a piquant dressing to Christmas cake made well in advance – I have been making this recipe for over thirty years – to Christmas lunch of turkey, herby pork forcemeat and a traditional sage stuffing, sprouts with bacon, crispy roast potatoes and a luscious carrot puree, we’ll make sure you won’t go hungry. We love to share food, it makes us happy, and we want it to make you happy too.

With only two rooms available to guests we provide a fully tailored service. The house is seasonally decorated with scented candles, holly and your rooms are warm and cosy.

There is a tree in the hall with sparkling lights and a cat that chews the bottom branches. There are dogs wandering around – they don’t beg but they appreciate a scrap or two – the carols will ring out in St David’s Cathedral, the hardy will battle the cold waves of the Irish Sea on the Boxing Day swim and there will be absolutely no sales to go to.

Read, write, think about the year you’ve had, wonder where you will go next year. Eat well, relax, make new friends and be, for once, genuinely welcome where you are. Join us for the kind of relaxed, friendly, stress free Christmas you always wanted.

All the Christmases roll down toward the two-tongued sea, like a cold and headlong moon bundling down the sky that was our street; and they stop at the rim of the ice-edged fish-freezing waves, and I plunge my hands in the snow and bring out whatever I can find. Dylan Thomas – A Child’s Christmas in Wales
